I was speaking of small children, the children who become addicted to Chicken McNuggets. Was your daughter as a small child capable of killing a chicken, and did she enjoy it? We indoctrinate our children into meat eating if we ourselves eat meat, almost mindlessly. I think children have enormous empathy for animals. But the barnyards portrayed in their little storybooks are total fantasy. What if preschools took field trips to factory farms and slaughterhouses? Do you think as many children would think meat tasted good? I don't.
