On the other hand, there’s this: April 2005 10.4 = unemployment rate among blacks. 6.4 = among latinos. 4.4 = among whites. So, we have the liberal media’s self-proclaimed “greatest economic expansion of all time,” versus the media’s self-proclaimed labor market depression. For whom, I wonder? In addition, the economy created 274,000 W-2 jobs, in April, bringing this calendar year’s net job creation, on payrolls, to 844,000. April’s job gains included net additions to payrolls in the following sectors of the economy: Financial services, information technology, construction, health care, mining, retail trade, and transportation. When non-payroll jobs are added to the mix (e.g., 1099 contractors; self-employment), the economy created 598,000 new jobs, in April, bringing this year’s total employment gain up to 943,000. That’s in 120 days, McBain. Since January 1st, average hourly and weekly earnings, for industrial-sector production workers and non-supervisors, in the services sectors, have increased, respectively, by 2.7 and 3.3 percent. Lastly, and to put the foregoing job creation stats into perspective, in order for the Republic of France to have created upwards of one million new jobs in four months, their government would have to declare that not working hereinafter would be considered “a new job.” And Germany??? Phffttttt. Heck, the Germans would have to put a street corner on every new state-run brothel to match that kind of robust job creation. After all, EUrope is utopia, no?
