What happened here was malicious.

Not at all, IMO. Mullholland Drive made it eminently clear that her question was academic. She asked for general public information about the teachers'-access-to-internet policy in the school system in which you purportedly teach.

Your response that this question "scared" you is a source of amusement, certainly for me, as

MD didn't threaten to post private correspondence containing private information of yours on SI as CH did me,

MD didn't do as CH did and make claims of being in possession of private documents she would post if only she had my permission (claims he backed off from when I gave the permission),

MD didn't talk about your children on SI, didn't follow you from forum to forum, isn't manifesting a sexual fixation, and unlike my harasser, probably doesn't even know your real name and where you live. Much less the district in which you claim to teach.

Why don't you, if you are TRULY frightened, take the advice you ever-so-snottily gave me and leave SI. After all, you're merely a screen name, not a real being. Remember?

I don't think your privacy was invaded. I think you are using that claim to dodge a question you were uncomfortable with. No need to discuss this further. Whether you post while working or not isn't worth discussing further.

Last week someone called me at work on a 800 number line and asked "Is this Andy Warhol" before hanging up. That was an invasion of privacy.
