The Eisenhower plan for SE Asia Thank you. You are are one of a very, very, very, very, very, very, small percentage of Americans who know which President led us into the Southeast Asian War. Even fewer know it started for us in the 50s and not the 60s. And fewer yet know we won in spring 68. And even fewer know McNamara quit as SECDEF in 68 before the election. It will be no surprise to you that those who still shout the loudest about "The Nam" know the least about the details.
