What uw said:
"Just a quick comment that that is not true. The Thai Army and Thai SF supported Secret Combat Operations in Northern Thailand and on into Laos against the NVA.
They were willing to do more.

We did not want to openly attack the NVA infiltrating through Laos because the UN had declared it neutral."

His last paragraph is really the crux of the matter. In the end it was political and not military. There are points where Laos is only about 100 miles wide between Thailand and S VN.

So I ask all you leftists, Democrats (You guys signed the treaty) and others: Why did we sign a neutrality treaty which only we had to support?? I've asked that question for years and have not gotten an answer. The Communists broke the treaty and it's ok, but if we were to go in afterwards we horrible. Next question: Why should we care about "World Opinion" when it hates the US and is communist anyway??
