re: "Self-loathing gays are closeted in the Republican party which has a platform (and members) that openly despise gays."

So a gay that doesn't hate himself must be a Democrat? Listen, You now know where the Karl Rove story comes from. I'm sure that you had no idea, that the rumors you were posting about, was Neo Nazi propaganda. But, now you know. Where you go with it is up to you.

re: "It was the current Pope who apparently sent out that overtly political (and inappropriate) missive about communion. That was the VATICAN, not the Democratic party."

Hey, this is a free country. If a person no longer believes in the views of their church, they can leave the organization. If a politician wants to be publicly seen as a Catholic, and a religious (good) one at that, then the Pope should be able to determine who a good Catholic is or isn't (or even if one can remain a Catholic). And if one's viewpoints are so opposite from church policy, wouldn't that make one "self loathing"?

Are you saying that black ministers can't tend to their flocks? And are you also saying that black ministers shouldn't get involved in politics?

There is a church for every viewpoint. If you're Catholic and want an openly gay priest or Bishop, then the Episcopal Church is for you. If you want your church to oppose Zionism and Israel, then join the Presbyterian Church.
