I guess I was naive about what people will say or do that is dishonest until I read Blinded by the Right..David Brock.
He worked for the American Spectator for years.. It is an extremely right wing publication supported by Richard Mellon Schaif ( in Hillary's book she talks about having to shake his hand at some function at the White House and how badly she felt at the duplicity of having to do this ) and it just fabricated lied, promoted them until they became reality.

Brock talks about how the right wing wanted Thomas as a Supreme Court Judge and so Anita Hill was portrayed as a liar and more lies were made up to discredit her so that she became a nothing but a jealous woman seeking revenge. It was all lies. A smear campaign that Brock relates and then goes on to say that actually pornographic material was found in Thomas's home and probably all that Anita Hill said was true.

The defamation of Clinton during his tenure is another issue.
Those State Troopers who came forward to say they were procurers for Clinton when he was Governor.. were paid.. They actually were Paid to LIE.

This is a disease in our Country.. There are many diseases but the smearing of people in politics to a point where they are discredited and the lies that are invented to smear them is something that makes me disgusted that our Democracy has to tolerate such lies. AND then to think that it's not the delegates we elect who represent us but the lobbyists.

Anna Quinlan on a radio interview the other day said it you called a Senator or Congressman and asked their position on bill .. they would say we'll get back to you. They never have a position until they either one, see what the lobbyists want or what the party line will be.

That Senator from Wisconsin whose plane went down while running for re election whose name escapes me right now was DIFFERENT... He was up front, honest and had opinions and the kind of human being we would be proud to have representing our Country. Too bad he had to die. We have so very few honest politic ans.
