Quebec definately would not want to join the US, and I think it is a snowball-in-hell likelihood the others would either.

Too much "Little Canadian" syndrome up there.

We lost our chance in 1812 to have the US stretch from the Gulf to the North Pole. Now, do we really want them?

Any ideas on all this Bill?

The left is already pushing it. They call it "The North American Alliance." The reason they want it is because they would pick up an enormous group of voters that would vote for them. Not a chance of it happening.

Of course they're viable. They can run their own courts, police, they're really good at snow plowing. Probably integrate even more closely with US, dollarize their economy. I'm sure life wouldn't change much for a citizen of Edmunton or Thunder Bay.

Having once been engaged to a French Canadian, I dont think I would want them. Too fiery for me. (gg) From what I have heard in the past Toronto would be glad to surrender them. The Maritime provinces would be nice as well as the West. Truth is if Canada and USA were merged the peoples of both would benefit greatly. Would be like the West opening up again to settlement. jdn
