i read the full report, he discuss people who commute 10 miles to work , price doesn't matter. He appears to be a city boy, mit, harvard, un of penn. mass transit, cabs. I wonder if he ever commuted by car 100 miles a day to work. I doubt he has any idea what commutes are to work for average people not living in cities, or in the mid west, west coast. Some places have no mass transit and car pool may be out of the question with various flex hours. He quotes Europe high prices and no real effect on gasoline but Europe doesn't drive the miles we put on our cars daily to get to work,etc.

bill .. you don't need the snow blower, boots, mittens, heavy clothes that run up costs for average family.
