Most of the Israeli aid went over as "loan guarantees" which had all kinds of strings, usually that the money would be spent an American defense manufactures. So it's an elaborate way of supporting MacDonnel Douglas.

Now, what did we get for the $2B a year we've been paying Egypt since 1979? A: the hatred of the Egyptians for propping up their rotten government.
