Sounds like you have little to no feel for the attitudes of less literate agrarian peoples with only an oral history, one largely of family and religion, and having little to do with states outside of their effects on family and religion .... i am of your culture far more than theirs, and hear what you're saying, had a fair bit to do with indians in México though, and still do from time to time, imagine myself able to begin a grasp of attitude, perhaps wrongly but am willing to argue so I've bought and sold land, in fact that's been the majority of lifetime income, still got attached to some pieces though, there are two now i'll never sell, barring last resort emergency in the family or something ... i'd be even less likely to sell my right to buy any back And that's what was being demanded of palestinians, it was for them a situation of selling their country, or else ... some took the cash and ran, the rest were forced off ... plata, o plomo, as the colombianos put it, 'silver, or lead'
