Michael, We knocked off Saddam. Iraq as a country wont be a threat anytime soon and if they try to develop terrorist camps a la Afghanistan we can bomb them. If we had done that earlier in Afghanistan the WTC would still stand. Reply: If we had been more vigilant with our intel and aware of what was happening including OBL....the WTC might still be standing. To me it is difficult to kill an idea or belief which is what the Vietnamese had... They believed in what they were doing fanatically...So do the terrorists. I don't think one can pacify by inflaming... We have had idols to teach us that . Martin Luther King, Gandhi,Mother Theresa.... There is only one way to end the insurgency. Kill all the insurgents. Can this be done. When I see my best friend die and you have killed that person I want revenge. This breeds more hate, more recruits and unless the Iraqi's arise to the occasion, which seems to be happening, albeit slowly, and take charge I do not see us being able to leave. Anyway I would rather you be right than me.

It will have just cost a few thousand Americans, a hundred thousand Iraqis, hundreds of billions of dollars and the respect of the entire world. Bush won't leave. He'll be there when his term ends. It's our BASE to secure the ME oil. He can't ADMIT mistakes. When are you Bushies going to get that he breeds two with undying hatred fo us for every one he kills?
