Personally, I think this is just an unfounded rumor. China should be smarter than that. 3-5% appreciation serves no other purpose except:
1) encourage more hot money flowing in;
2) showing world that China will do whatever the West wants China to do;
3) making the greedy West even greedier<g>

And if I remember correctly, a couple of US financial companies all made such prediction early this year. So I guess they are just self-comforting<g>
