I agree with you. My impression is that he makes his picks very late in the game (after the stock has already moved), and even more disturbingly, he often doesn't stick with his picks. In addition to AAPL, he liked EBAY, RIMM, QCOM, SIRI and many others when they were much higher in price. Now they've come down considerably, and he doesn't like them anymore. (Could be mistaken about RIMM -- I'm not up to date on his current take. But I'm pretty sure the only "high fliers" he's stuck with are GOOG and YHOO.)

In any event, even though you and I (and many others) may view his statements as somewhat suspect, the fact is -- he's got a big audience. In addition to the Street.com/RealMoney.com, they've now given him his own show on CNBC. People seem to like his energy. He struts around the set with his sleeves rolled up shouting at every turn. I guess it makes good television? ;-) Point being -- he's got a platform, and when he talks down a stock, it can make a difference.
