What I did?
What I did and others did was to try to get a man who was doing some things you have just indicated that perhaps you don't think of as harassment (take a poll among your PM friends and maybe they'll agree with you on that, too) to stop.
He said he wouldn't stop. He was f-ing obsessed. It was creepy and scary, and he made clear he knew where she was. He said there was "an intimate relationship" he wanted to continue, and in the pursuit of that, he threatened to sue SI for putting a no to-or-about restriction on his sexual and blackmailing posts to Poet, so, Admin said they had to allow it.
There is sooo much more that he did and said to her (and to others, btw, though to a lesser degree; I recall that in my case he asserted both that I was "into sadistic porn" and that two or three other women beside Poet (I was one, don't recall the others but believe one was the woman who founded Sharks, i forget her name) had had "intimate" relationships with him (he was a peach, your buddy was) -- but the bottom line is, you didn't like it that community pressure was brought to stop the threats and sexual harassment when the phony preacher (on IHub) who was actually a lawyer with time on his hands left only that, only community pressure, after he successfully threatened to sue SI if they didn't let him keep up the stalking, the sexual posts, the threat to reveal private correspondence. (And as you must remember, when, to prove it wasn't sexually intimate correspondence, Poet gave permission to post all their PM"s and emails, he dropped it.)
Oh wait. You don't grant that it was harassment:

You do understand, don't you, that the hostility and disgust expressed by his fellow posters about such behavior to women would have stopped if CH had stopped doing it? Right? You didn't mention that little fact. CH didn't need your support, ion! He needed only to stop lying and threatening and coming on sexually to a frightened, fragile poster who ended up on medication, and whom you ridiculed!
But you feel he had a right to do what he did, even if it wasn't very kind. You were so anxious to defend the abuser and mock his victim, and to pretend the support you gave him was virtuous (you and you alone thought so) that you took the ludicrous position that his crude, threatening sexually suggestive, privacy-violating behavior wasn't a violation of the TOU!:

Well, ion, your update of your position that Poet was just kind of "considering" herself harassed, while YOU are really being harassed is very good for me to read. Silly me, I'd developed some sympathy for you.
You know what? If one of your current harassers began stalking you sexually, revealed information about your children they knew from PMs, knew where you lived, threatened to publicly reveal private correspondence of yours, and your husband posted in defense of you, asking that the sexual allusions, and the following of you over to a thread you'd started on IHub please stop, and you were clearly having emotional difficulty dealing with the stress, I'd bet rather a lot that the same ones who are harassing you now would be disgusted and, if the perv threatened to sue SI so he could continue to do it to you, would come to your defense.
And I'll bet that Poet wouldn't defend the perv and ridicule you.
Any time I read a complaint from you that YOU are being harassed, I'll think of you casting doubt that what Poet went through for months with CH even qualified as harassment, and it will put things in perspective.
