I didn't write the article, Jagfan. I did think it was interesting. Why is the government subsidizing/encouraging the use of gasoline hogging vehicles that keep us dependent on foreign oil, anyway? That is what I found interesting about the article. Whether the government writes someone a check or gives them a credit of they keep more of their own money, the effect is that their tax burden is lessened. Since the U.S. is pretty much in a big hole of deficit spending, we can use all the tax money we get, I would think.
