No. Handguns are needed for self-defense.

It's tough maneuvering a long-barrelled rifle in a house.

Do you propose that ALL law enforcement be handed over to the cops? How many will it take? Do we WANT that many Big Brother in our neighborhoods?

And this ignores the fact that the average law enforcement agency is lucky to catch the fact that its fly is down, much less catch a crook. How long did it take to catch Ted Kaczynski? Patty Hearst and the rest of the SLA? How many times do the cops go out and just grab somebody with a bad rap sheet and charge therm with the latest crime?

You want Big Brother watching you?

"I'm a strong proponent of gun law compromise"

If all the players would agree that at the end of the compromise, it is over and gun control legislation was forever off the table, compromise might be a good thing.

But as soon as a compromise is agreed to and legislated, the next bill is released into committee to take away more...and of course, the cry is "be reasonable, compromise"

This process then continues until the final law says, "Turn them all in...", each step seemed reasonable...

RDW

There is no compromise. The left wants them gone. Feinstein, Schumer, Clinton, et al, want the gone, turned in. It is more in-line with the UN thinking that they want us to embrace.

The UN thinking I want to embrace is to kick the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN.
