Mish, a lot of investors today are hoarding their investments in new construction rather than immediately resell, thus hoping for further appreciation and pay long term capital gains tax. This exchange of San Diego investors on their Tucson,AZ deals tells a lot.

Most of the homebuilders in the HGX were up yesterday. The index1 was distorted by losses in the construction materials firms (US Gypsum, etc.) as a result of the asbestos litigation news.
