Wharf Rat, I have no problem with Canada or things Canadian. Canadian crutches sound to be a cut above. And yes, I can be a klutz. If not, how else could I have broken my ankle? <g> I did not go to PT until long after I had started wearing the moon boot, so crutches for klutzes was, by then, a moot point.

I broke my ankle when I was on my way to work my graveyard shift at the local regional trauma center. It was a shallow curb I had not seen in the dark. Five hours later, when my ankle had grown to about the size of well-ripened cantaloupe and had taken on the color of a stormy twilight sky, I figured that maybe I ought to let someone look at it and got myself down to the ER. X-ray diagnosis: Spiral fracture of the distal fibula. The ER personnel? Well, I gave them all a much welcomed, hearty laugh as they watched me try to navigate on those crutches they had given me. I'm surprised they didn't film it and sell it to the Comedy Network channel. Anyhooo, they did some paperwork and got me a walker, and I comandeered a wheel chair.

A week later when I saw the orthopod, I was given a walking boot. End of that story. Why I did not see an orthopod for a week is another story and one that speaks to some of the cracks in some of the HMO healthcare system as it exists in its current state in the good ol' US of A. - Holly

From personal knowledge, I believe you should send Holly a copy of "Crutches for Klutzes".
