Sometimes I wonder about Strategy Page. This was hardly new news.

I was on a team working out of Chania, Crete with a SEAL 2 team. We did a parachute rendezvous with the USS Threadfin, far at sea in the Mediterranean followed by a middle of the night submerged lockout and two mile underwater compass swim to shore (sub lockout chamber to shore without surfacing), 33 years ago, in the spring of 1972.

This was the first and last for that boat, but I know of many other OPS, both before and after, using other subs.
