CJ, it goes right alongside my new theory. Moderates are the new "conservatives" simply because more often than not, they support the status quo. Not so fast......one standard of a conservative ideology is that conservatives tend to be reactionary. Hence, religious conservatives want to go back to a time when religion played a bigger role in people's lives. Meanwhile, the GOP is controlled by those "neocons" and "religious kooks," both of which JF said shouldn't be considered true "conservatives." And the Dems, well, will be Dems.
