I'm picturing my aunties trying to compare products on the internet... Seriously, I really don't get why some poor slob stopping at the drugstore on his way home from a day in the mines should have to stop at the library on his way home to research cold medicines. There must be more convenient ways to keep large batches of the stuff away from drug dealers. How about simply putting only a couple of each item on the shelf at a time and restocking during the day a needed? That's got to be easier on both the store and on the 99.9999% of the customers who are there to buy one packet of something for a cold yet it would slow down the drug dealers.
