Bush Rove used hyper neocon, super supply side and super-religious right to win the election. The expected post election move to the center has not happened. I think this is a waste of political capital. This admin is wasting its time on senate rules, bolton and a couple of female judges with questionable credentials.
What we need is an exit strategy in Iraq based on timetables that will incent the iraqis to perform. Also needed is a recognition that what worked brilliantly to stave off post 9/11 depression needs to be adjusted now. IMO bush is making the mistake new dealers made, post depression in not recognizing the changing situation on the ground. Oil, and interest rates supercede deficits, debt and weak dollar. We need better control of spending and tax cutting is not the only thing on the table anymore. AG needs to keep interest rates low but this can't be done in a vacuum. Price of oil must come down as well thru a coherent lt solution involving conservation and exploration. Exxon-Mobil has 40 billion in cash in the bank today. Will they like msft give it away as a dividend or buy back their own stock or invest it in exploration for oil or other energy sources? Very important question and E-M should be encourage to explore.
