I remember my first car, a 49 Plymouth with 60k miles on it. My father had bought it new and always parked on a hill. Put in gear, depress the clutch and pop the clutch when it got rolling to get it started. Saved the battery and starter.

I drove it 6 months and the clutch started slipping, all the adjustment had been used up. I got the speech, "Daym stupid kid, I drove that car for 15 years and it never needed a clutch and now you drive it 6 months and it needs a clutch".
