This is precisely what we have now -- we have a policy designed to cause isolation.

Even if it will cause isolation (and it will not) that isn't its purpose. If your not trying to be isolated, you are not engaging in isolationism.

For our policy to be isolationism, it would have to be intended to cut us off from the rest of the world, stopping or greatly reducing trade and immigration, diplomatic ties, and military engagement with the rest of the world. In fact our policy will not reduce any of those to a great amount, and it is not intended to do so. Nothing isolationist about it at all.
