Well of course....I can too. Clearly the clutch was on its last leg after 15 years but your dad thought it was fine. It would have burned on him as well in the same amount of time. A clutch is something you can smell if you're roasting it. My bet is since he used the hill to start the car he wasn't quite the clutch perfectionist from the start position that he thought he was and thus was roasting it little by little from either the stand still or he rode the thing. Older people tend to ride the clutch
