Me thinks he's intimidated by Chris. Knows Chris will hold him accountable. Look, what you have to understand is that the corporate media is simply a fraud. Scarborough on Matthews is playing to a naive leftie audience, so he gives them the 'red meat' that this particular boutique audience expects about Bush and his lies. Then when Scarborough goes back to his own show, he reverts to right wing punditry because that's what that segmented audience has come to accept as dogma. It's all about the ratings. Scarborough is a whore. But he's not the only one. Yesterday, there was an interesting tidbit on the Randi Rhodes Show: therandirhodesshow.com She talked about being called by some print reporter who wanted to get a couple quotes for an article. In their bantering, he asked if Randi was like Sean Hannity, in that Hannity is completely disinterested in politics when he's off the air. Hannity is a complete and utter poser who is merely playing to the Faux News audience and feeding them the crap that a focus group specialist like Frank Luntz luntzspeak.com has determined should be the complete propaganda diet to feed a growing fascism in America. It's all totally cynical. Except for Randi, who is merely jaded by the crassness of the raft of pretenders and posers that she competes with and who have better rating because they are more artifical, less honest and perfectly willing to cater to the basest instincts and most despicable prejudices of the lowest common denominator of human excrement, i.e. the evangelical Republican bigot.
