10,000 Indians:
Remember what a pain it was when Dell had to lay-off 2500. What a disaster that was.

Of course it did not compare with the 10,000 that Motorola
laid off (excuse me, surplused) in Austin.

But ten thousand does seem like lot.
And that is not at the facilities in Tennessee, or Kentucky ,or Austin, or Ireland, or Xiamen, or ...

Dell has doubled the size of the Xiamen facility- twice.

Remember Michaels prediction that one of the top computer builders would quit. ?
And that turned out to be IBM. Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Of course Tandem and Digital and Compaq and one other I forget have combined.
They can say :
"Now that Compaq and Digital and Tandem and HP are one we still cannot keep up with Dell"

We are both right about Dell performance before earnings, first it goes up a bit, and then a few days before earnings it drops. But I didn't want to discourage anyone.

Sig
