>>Never in the history of the Republic have filibusters been used to prevent a vote on nominees.<<

Not according to the website of the GOP dominated Senate:

"Filibuster Derails Supreme Court Appointment"

"Dirksen and others withdrew their support. Although the committee recommended confirmation, floor consideration sparked the first filibuster in Senate history on a Supreme Court nomination. On October 1, 1968, the Senate failed to invoke cloture. Johnson then withdrew the nomination."

"only 50% ...have had votes."

Really?

Well, Bush is only 100 days into his second term.

Hardly fair to compare a FOUR YEAR record to a full two term record. (Give it time... so you aren't comparing different baselines.)

If you compare the first Bush term to the first Clinton term (a favorable comparision for you, I believe, because Clinton had *even fewer* nominees confirmed in his second term), I believe the statistics are nearly identical --- with a slight edge to Bush, well over 90% confirmation success.

"Never in the history of the Republic have filibusters been used to prevent a vote on nominees."

Er... that's just not true.
