OT -- Why wouldn't they? They are pretty compassionate countries.

But they do take into account their citizens' interests (rather being swayed by loud ethnic lobbies) when it comes to accepting immigrants. Australia in particular has pretty strict immigration rules. You have to have a good chunk of money and establish and run a legitimate business for some years before you can become a citizen, or be very talented in some needed field.
