Website Claims Osama Bin Laden Died

Politics: 29 April 2005, Friday.

An Islamic website has announced the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, the London-based Arabic daily Asharq Al Awsat reported Friday.

The website claims close ties to the terror network. Over the last several weeks, it has been publishing messages reportedly stemming from al-Qaeda.

But Asharq Al Awsat cited experts and Islamists as saying that the report about the terror mastermind's death were "baseless."
