Let me add that we aren't even seeing the cheap stocks in this sector get bought out. Those companies that have bought or merged with smaller players are seeing their stocks hammered as well. If the smaller companies that have been taken out and shot aren't worth being bought by the larger, stronger companies in the group...why should investors or traders look to buy the stocks?

One of the recent mergers involved GGNS and AIXG.de. Look at the performance of that stock since it's completion. Down about 40% in the last month or so. Is this because of poor fundies or is it just that no one is buying stocks in this sector? Take your pick.

I was referring to the IC makers, not necessarily the equipment guys, though if the IC guys up guidance, then logically the equips should benefit somewhere down the line.

Re: everyone should be very aware of the headwind you will face if you buy these stocks at this point in time

Unfortunately, I am all too cognizant of this.
