I'm not laughing. Your kind of research yields basic, hard knowledge. Everything on the web is a little bit suspect because people tend to link up families without the hard evidence. The first time that happens, other people start linking to it, and pretty soon you have to be skeptical about everything.

I would assume that when you say 4 file cabinets they are somewhat fire protected.You would hate to have all that priceless history unprotected.I even use some small fireproof safes for my most prized possessions.
When you do finally get to place all your hard work on your computer you may want to think about backing-up your files to a seperate hard-drive that you can physically keep in a safe,JMHO.
