If he were traded the team would have to pick up all the remainder of the contract--eagles have NO obligation to pay Owens in future if he is not playing for them , in fact, Owens now owes Eagles 1.8million of the 9.8 milion dollars he got last year.
Contract now amounts to 40 million dollars over the next 6 years NOT guaranteed.
The chatter is that if Owens had himself asked for a guarantee extension(without getting Rosenhaus as a agent) he would have had his contract guaranteed for another 2 years.
I believe if Eagles did a trade they would want a #2 draft pick and a decent tight end to back up L.J.Smith.
But i believe , Owens seeing where we were trading him, would refuse to go(i believe it would be to a lesser team in the AFC).
Owens foot in mouth disease combined with signing on with Rosenhaus will be matters T.O. will regret.
