That is if there is a free float and full freedom of exchange. That ain't going to happen anytime soon... As I mentioned somewhere, Israel tried that in 1978-9. Result: hyperinflation.... as you surmise...

It sounds like you think China will not float the Renminbi this year. Do you think they might repeg..? Is the liquidity issue in China causing a decline of economic activity in China, a slowing of growth, or is it too hard to tell at this point..?
