I firmly believe that charts predict news events and other fundamental happenings. I don’t have a rational explanation as to why this is the case but I can tell you through my many years of trading purely by using charts and mainly ignoring TV news and not reading the WSJ or other Wall Street based publications, I have been on the right side of the trade most of the time.

On the other hand there are a fractional percentage of cases like 911 where a perfect chart setup will turn sour very quickly but who or what could have predicted a mad man flying airplanes into the twin towers?
