"The times they are a-changin' "

Bob Dylan

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

Hi Bubba - Consider looking at these 'stories' with a critical eye.

Are you getting these stories from people you know, with not more than about 2 more links to a known, named person - or are you getting this stuff off some internet site like
alt.stories-to-make-you-sad ?

The stories all have a sort of "massaged" flavor with just enough non-specific detail and description to seem real and cause one to identify with the the characters in the stories.

Notice : "I want to relate a story which just occured"

No date - if it had a date, might make it hard for this keep circulating on the net.

The first story appears to have been translated - in the US, crimes are REPORTED to police, lawyers file briefs.

Just checking a few of the obvious errors -

"Racism under American law is not involved because it was national origin directed (seperate laws)"

All the modern (post 1930s) civil rights laws lump race, religeon, and national origin together.

*****************

These stories are about 1/3 Craig Shergold and 1/3 troll bait - something to start a discussion or flame war on a discussion board. The rest might be some emotional type of propaganda, hoping people might become more tolerant.

******************

There are lots of real instances of nasty discrimination in the US every day - but they have dates and times, and people who have names (like Rodney King)

My personal take on tolerance ? Please see South Park Episode 614 , "Death Camp of Tolerance"
<something offensive for everybody !>

By the way, Sout Park Episodes are troll bait...
