Yep. That's it exactly. This generation is running twice as hard just to keep up with where their parents were. It's reality, not a bad dream.

This generation is the first in a long time to not do better than their parents but this generation will not admit that the system works against them. So what do their representatives do? They try to increase the risk for the individual in a world where risk is already much higher than it was for the previous generation.

There are no more secure jobs when even heart surgery can be outsourced. There is a hugely skewed, government codified distribution of wealth. Now the government is going to make it harder to get out of debt for the individual while SIMULTANEOUSLY taking on UAL's pension risk and putting it on the back of the US Taxpayer.

It's stupid but Americans are largely stupid about their own plight. Horatio Alger doesn't exist but a corrupt government most certainly does.

Have you tried yelling at your Congressional representative about your situation? Can you get a government grant to ease your way? Heck, the ultrawealthy rape and pillage the US Treasury and make very good use of Congress for their personal profit, you might as well also.
