Hmmmm . . . some of the Russian immigrants in San Francisco caused a whole lot of trouble. I used to love to go to their neighborhood to get piroski. Very intense environment. A lot of clubs, partying, smoking cigarettes, heavy drinking. They are rabid capitalists all right, but some of them really like to deal drugs and extort money and smuggle and do some other things that have caused a lot of trouble for the police. When they do engage in criminal activities, they are quite sophisticated. You will be very lucky if your Russian neighbors ever share food with you. Their food is rich and wonderful.
