what is so good about taxing wages? I don't know that there's anything good or bad about it. It's just that SS was set up on sort of an insurance model where those who get the benefits pay the premiums. If you change that to pay SS pensions from tax money coming from coupon clippers, entrepreneurs, the retired, etc, you have a different paradigm. In proposing funding from general revenue, was it your intention to change the paradigm or were you shooting for something else like maybe simplicity?
