I'm not sure what the true figures are. NOW we're getting someplace! They're guessing. With 1/3 of the year gone, they're putting their twist on the remaining 2/3. And they want a negative spin. The result is negative. Surprise! The issue is a bit like parts of the health care discussion, which I wanted to get into, but still haven't... Get the numbers. Getting real relable numbers in critical areas seems impossible. It really doesn't matter if it was last month, or next month. I'm used to us being the biggest exporter, by far. You ain't. The US wants China to lean on NK about nukes. To get them to do that, we are letting them get away with murder on the trade front. And they still aren't doing it. Maybe we ought to think about just launching and being done with it. Assuming the Chinese stay out, we can then read them the riot act about slave labor, multiple misvalued currencies, .... We shouldn't even be talking about this. We should be exporting so much more than we import. What makes me feel insecure is that the balance is now close enuf that we noticed it. It's not that we are in danger of starving. But I feel like we have lost another cushion. If you want to make me feel better, connect it to the weakness of the dollar or something. Because some clowns forecast disaster based on inadequate data?????
