Jesus was for love, peace, forgiveness and tolerance. Exactly, everything these hardcore Christians apparently don't practice, Jesus was for. Let's face it, Christianity has been severely coopted and bastardized by those who seek power in our country. They know religion (no matter how twisted) sells and wins elections. Just the appearance of being religious is enough to win over millions of voters. I mean, Bush a sincerely religous man? Come on, get real. A truly religous man would try to find peaceful solutions to our problems (not attack other countries), would do all he could to serve the poor (not cut social spending to the bone), would promote tollerance (not embrace a hardcore religion in the public square).
