Thanks, dabum....very helpful. Was glad to hear that one of my assumptions was correct...that there could be negative volume indicated although most of the day the prices were in the positive range. Kind of lowers the value of the indicator in many cases, imo.

On your display of the three examples for the CMF in the above link, I note that here again there can be some anomolous signals produced in the indicator window, belying the actual price movement or trend shown on the chart. The Alcoa one displays a long period of green during an accompanying down trend in the price....seems kinda counterintuitive, no? Can you explain why this can happen? As loaded as you apparently are in helping us dummies, db, please know that I would understand your reluctance to devote much time to my occasional queries. The board should be, and I definitely am, very appreciative of your helpful posts.
