I don't hunt, never have though my father has this 8 or 12 point mounted trophy buck head that's been exiled in the garage my entire life. There are many risks in life, I mostly worry about driving, which statistically seems worse than anything else most of us come in contact with day-to-day.

After deer ate the top half of my young metasequoia glyptostroboides, I mostly took on the gardener's view of deer- rats on hooves. The thing about deer hunting, at least locally, is that there's not much else to keep the herd in check. Of course, this is largely the result of historical herd management for the benefit of hunters, but I don't see any realistic alternative at this point.
