I've been to Roslyn. It's like going back fifty years in time. I rather liked it.

Even one of my favorite movies, "Hole In The Sky" was filmed in BC. I've spent many summers at the real location where the story was set and in my opinion it is FAR better than the BC standin locations. However, I'm delighted that it did not suffer the impact of a Hollywood film crew, even if Sam Elliot did play Bill Bell (the greatest Ranger in the United States Forest Service), a genuine personage fictionalized in the film and in Norman McLean's novella that it was based on. I know somebody who knew Bill Bell, and he was an even greater Ranger than Bell was.

I like the way Sam Elliot and Tom Selleck play their Western characters because the real people were like that. I've known several.
