OK, you have plenty of anecdotes to refute anything. Here are some statistics:

"The rate of black crack babies in San Francisco is 80 times higher than for whites. Rates are also higher for drug addicted babies, taking drugs while pregnant, AIDS due to IV drug use, drug clinics in San Francisco, New York and Seattle, and most serious drug use (crack, cocaine, heroin)."

There is profit in getting people hooked and plenty of it.

Take away the profit and no one has a vested interest in getting anyone hooked.
