Yes, one consequence is that your theory of precisely zero cost of stock buybacks is incorrect.

You won't take yes for an answer. I agree with you that the explanation put forth here does not account for the years when Intel issued options and didn't do simultaneous and compensating buybacks. I also agree that revaluing options would invalidate the theory as well, however I am unaware of Intel ever doing that. What's the problem?
