Terry, ...nice explanation, and thanks. Go to Bigcharts and try the following parameters: symbol = comp timefreame = choose custome, hit timeframe button twice, then enter: 1/4/74 - 12/31/81 freq = daily indicators = 3 sma (choose 67 to approximate 50/200) Because of the way parameters are chosen, I used 67 for the smas to get as close to 50/200 as possible. As you might see, there were a number of false bear crosses during this period. bigcharts.marketwatch.com (my settings won't carry over through the pasted link, sorry)
