The Shia are not our friends. They hate Americans, Christians and Jews. They are allied with Iran not allied with us. They are probably contributing to the Jihadist movement. We know our "friends" the Saudis are.

In the 80's Reagan helped arm Saddam in order to wipe out the Iranians, Shiites and Kurds. Now we are doing the opposite.

If you give them democracy, they will elect a Shiite Islamic theocracy. Maybe even one like the Taliban. They will also want their oilfields back.

The Sunnis are the elitist Nazis of Iraq. They are physically and mentally "superior", or so they believe. But they are a minority, so they feel like they have to kill the majority just to survive. And kill us too.

The Kurds are a different tribe in the northwest, hated fiercely by the Turks who are our NATO allies. They are isolkated enough so they are not a problem, unless the Turks get pissed off.

Bush certainly liberated the Shia and the Kurds. There is absolutely no question about that. They are the vast majority of the country. You would give all the power back to the minority violent Sunnis? Thats weird.

Weird is standard for AS. Patriotism 101, you and I love our country. This subject is much peopled by those who do not.
