Looks like the value became anywhere from 10 cents to 40 cents per dollar. historylink.org With the finished plants producing power for 2.3 cents per KW?. That is cheap.. I was paying 11 cents/kw in Dana point (near San Onafre plant) in the 1990's, 7 cents here in TX today. I have a suspicion our coal,oil and gas lobbyists fought nuclear all the way. Probably will fight it even harder today. They have much more to lose at present energy prices (g) The logical thing to do is build all the nuclear plants in one isolated area ( like Eastern Wash State) hahaha . And pipe it down and around over a DC line. That would put all the pork and work in Wash, which other State's Congressmen would not buy into. And an argument could be made that we would be vulnerable to an enemy attack by merely breaking the main lines. But noooooooooooooooo, every State must get in on the action, get part of the pie. Which makes for a great ineficientcy but better employment figures. Its the American way, sharing the load, where everyone pays for the Credit Card cheaters, for the accidents of uninsured drivers, for the Medical costs of the uninsured. For the insane salaries of company executives while their company loses money...... I could go on , and on, and on.(g) Sig
